As of the 2000 census there were 2,126 people, 631 households and 569 families residing in the village of Brookville. The population density was 530.5 people per square mile. Of the 631 households, 49.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 82.9% were married couples, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present and 9.8% were not families. 7.9% of all households were made up of individuals. The average household size was 3.35 and the average family size was 3.49. The median income for a household in the village was in excess of $200,000 as was the median income for a family. The median sold price was $2,000,000 with a high selling price of $4,800,000 for a property on Hickory Drive and a low price of $947,000 for a home on Canturbury Road. Interestingly, of the 14 homes that sold, only three were built in the last ten years. Currently there are 52 homes for sale in Old Brookville, a majority of which are new construction. Of the 722 households 36.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 76.6% were married couples living together, 7.3 had a female householder with no husband present ant 14.4% were non families. The average household size was 3.00 and the average family size was 3.22. The median income for a household in the village was #133,192, and the median income for a family was $155,731. Males had a median income of $88,562 versus $52,625 for females. The per capita income for the village was $77,874. Upper Brookville

The median sale price was $1,775,000 with a high selling price of $2,850,000 on Red Fox Lane and a low of $1,314,500 on Colony Road. There are currently 35 homes for sale in Upper Brookville ranging in price from $850,000 for a 1920 Colonial on Chicken Valley Road, to a gated, palatial manor home on Colonial Drive for $8,999,999.

As of the 2000 census there were 1,801 people, 568 households and 483 families residing in the village and the population density was 418.5 people per square mile. Of the 568 households, 42.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 73.8% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.8% were non-families. The average household size was 3.14 and the average family size was 3.41. The median income for a household in the village was $140,861, and the median income for a family was $162,799. The per capita income for the village was $65,254.
